Joey Espinoza
Barber/Former Fire Sprinkler Extraordinaire
Joey took the scenic route to barbering—starting as a fire sprinkler inspector before realizing he was more interested in trimming hair than testing pipes. Growing up in West Valley City, he always had barbering in the back of his mind (his grandpa was a barber, after all), but he never made the leap. His dad used to tell him they should open a shop together, just like his grandfather had, and that idea stuck with him. But it wasn’t until he met Paul—barber, storyteller, and professional bad influence—that he finally took the plunge.
In 2023, Joey enrolled in Barber School in Midvale, Utah, and graduated in 2025, proving that dreams (and hairlines) can be shaped at any time. Now, he’s living his best life, cutting hair, cracking jokes, and making sure every client leaves looking sharp.
When he's not behind the chair, Joey is out fishing, hunting, camping, or just enjoying time with his wife and two little ones. Outgoing and always ready for a good chat, he’s thrilled to be part of Cook’s Barbershop, where the clippers are always buzzing, the stories are always flowing, and the haircuts come with a side of laughs.
